These worms include roundworms, hookworms, pinworms, whipworms, and tapeworms, which commonly infect people through contaminated food, water, or soil. Albendazole works by stopping the worms from absorbing glucose, their main source of energy. As a result, the worms become weak, lose their ability to survive, and are eventually eliminated from the body through the digestive system.
