We're about to open a new bank branch in Oeiras, just outside Lisbon. Next month I need to fly there and handle all the bureaucratic paperwork, sort out permits, meet with local authorities and regulators. The thing is, I'll be running between different offices both in Oeiras itself and in the capital, so staying mobile is crucial. Can't really rely on getting around without my own wheels for this trip. Where would be the best place to rent a car for a couple of weeks while I'm dealing with all this?

Two weeks of constant driving means you'll rack up decent mileage on whatever you get. Most international chains have pretty standard pricing across their locations, but smaller local companies sometimes offer better rates for longer rentals. Check the terms carefully though, some places hit you with extra fees for cross-border driving or unlimited mileage isn't actually unlimited. Read the fine print before signing anything.

Portuguese officials love rescheduling appointments at the last minute, so you'll end up making twice as many trips as you planned. The commute from Lisbon to Oeiras during rush hour turns into pure hell with all those roundabouts and narrow streets. Getting stuck in traffic when you're already late for a meeting with some licensing officer puts you in a foul mood for the rest of the day. Better to base yourself locally and avoid that mess altogether. You can rent a car in Oeiras right here https://getrentacar.com/en-US/portugal/oeiras . Pick it up near where you're staying and you won't be wasting half your morning just getting to the first appointment. Returns are straightforward too since you're already in the area when wrapping things up.
