Based on GM's Gen V small-block architecture, the LT4 engine is a 6.2L supercharged V8. It has a factory supercharger that produces enormous torque throughout the whole RPM range, an aluminum block, direct injection, and variable valve timing. Because of this configuration, the LT4 may outperform many engines with bigger displacement while still being lightweight and small.

The LT4 engine is valued by performance aficionados due to its possibility for upgrades. The engine can accommodate further boost and tweaking, enabling even more horsepower, even with factory internals. The LT4 offers a perfect mix of power, efficiency, and engineering expertise that is uncommon in factory V8 engines, whether it is upgraded or left stock.
