I travel often, and Schiphol is definitely my favorite airport. The first time I flew through it on a layover, I stumbled upon a branch of the Rijksmuseum while waiting for my flight. It’s beautiful-they have original paintings by Dutch masters on display. That's unimaginable at most other airports around the world. I highly recommend visiting the website
https://amsterdam-ams-international-airport.com/en , which has all the details about the interesting attractions there. There’s also an airport library, the first of its kind in the world, which opened in 2010, as well as a meditation center and a Holland Casino. Having just one terminal is actually very convenient because you don’t have to travel between buildings, and all the services are in one place. The only downside is that the gates farthest from the center are sometimes a twenty-minute walk away.
