I've mostly stuck with spot trading because it's easier for me to understand the risk. But I'm curious what makes people prefer leveraged positions.

Is it mainly about being able to use less capital for the same exposure, or are there situations where leverage gives you an advantage that you wouldn't get from spot trading?

The main difference is the amount of exposure you can get relative to your margin, but that comes with a much tighter risk window. With leveraged positions, you also have things like maintenance margin and funding costs to consider. This is a pretty straightforward overview of how crypto leverage trading works and how it differs depending on the type of platform: https://evedex.com/en/blog/crypto-leverage-trading/. Spot is definitely simpler, but I can see why experienced traders use leverage when they have a specific risk-management plan.
