Hi everyone,

I recently came across the Snapchat Planets feature, and I’m a bit confused about the order of the planets displayed. Some sources suggest it’s based on distance from the sun, while others hint it might be ranked by popularity, user engagement, or some other metric unique to Snapchat.

Can anyone clarify what determines the order of planets in Snapchat? Is there a set sequence like the real solar system (Mercury, Venus, Earth, etc.), or is it entirely app-specific? Any insights, screenshots, or explanations would be really helpful.

Thanks in advance!

The order of planets in Snapchat is always the same as the real solar system: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune. The placement of friends, however, depends on interaction. This means that Snapchat planets in order reflects your top friend on Mercury, your second on Venus, and so on. The sequence of planets remains fixed, but which friends appear on them can change over time based on how often you chat, snap, or maintain streaks.
