I've seen people recommend cleaning winter coats every season, while others only do it if there's a stain or noticeable odor.

What's your routine? Does it depend on the material or how often you wear it?

I usually have mine cleaned once the season is over before storing it away. It helps remove dust, body oils, and any stains you might not notice. Proper dry cleaning has kept my wool coats looking great for years.
