Which is the most expensive suburb in Auckland?

Hello, everyone! I've been thinking about buying a house for my family near the Auckland waterfront. I'd like to compare prices, so if anyone here is also interested, could you give me some advice? Where is the best place to buy reliable real estate within a fixed price range?

Do you have an extra 5 million New Zealand dollars lying around? I'm from Auckland, but I have a friend who lives in Herne Bay. He said those are the prices there. I saw a review on the Gettransfer blog about expensive neighbourhoods, and Herne Bay was mentioned there too. It's supposedly the most expensive suburb in Auckland, but my friend can get to the central business district in 10–15 minutes. That's cool because I always thought it was far away. I'd like to buy property there, but I'd have to work hard to afford it. What do you and your wife do for a living?
