I’ve been noticing a clear trend lately — Midna-inspired and other fantasy-style dolls seem to be getting way more attention compared to a couple years ago. More preorders, more photo posts, more discussion threads. Curious if others are seeing the same thing.

From my own perspective as a long-time doll owner, I think a few things are driving this:

First — fantasy avoids the uncanny valley problem.
When a doll is meant to look stylized instead of perfectly human, people judge it differently. Small sculpt quirks feel like “design choice” instead of “flaw.”

Second — they work surprisingly well with VR setups.
I’ve tested both realistic and fantasy types, and honestly, stylized faces blend better in VR scenes. Less mismatch, more immersion.

Third — stronger display value.
Fantasy bodies and faces tend to photograph better and stand out more on a shelf. They feel more like collectible pieces than pure realism models.

Fourth — buyer mindset seems different.
Most fantasy buyers I’ve talked with are more like collectors than first-time buyers. They research more, wait longer, and are picky about sculpt details.

I ordered mine through ULoversDoll mainly because they had the most complete spec info and factory update photos available. The rep there walked me through the production timeline since this model had a queue. Not the fastest wait — but smooth process overall.
