So I started getting calls from the Law Offices of Darren J. Devlin a few days ago about an old debt. They've been pretty persistent, calling at different times of the day. I was caught off guard at first and didn't really know how to handle it.

After doing some digging, I found a few helpful things. First, I realized I should ask them to send a debt validation letter in writing to prove the debt is actually mine and show the original creditor. From what I understand, they have to provide that documentation if you request it.

Also, I read that you can send a cease and desist letter if they're calling at inconvenient times or being aggressive. They aren't supposed to call before 8 AM or after 9 PM, and they can't use threats or abusive language.

Has anyone else dealt with this firm recently? How did you handle it? I'm trying to figure out if I should try to negotiate a settlement or just dispute the whole thing if they can't provide proper paperwork. Any advice would be appreciated.
