Has anyone here recently upgraded their workshop with new ECU/TCU programming tools? I’m working with a mixed fleet — passenger cars, light trucks, and a few agricultural machines — so I need something versatile. Ideally, a device that handles reading/writing in different connection modes and doesn’t require constant paid add-ons. I’m trying to avoid suppliers that send outdated hardware. Any recommendations?

From my experience, quality control matters more than the brand. I’ve bought “famous” tools that arrived with outdated firmware and missing adapters. Make sure the seller pre-tests the device and ships it with the latest software. That saves tons of time on setup.

If you want a supplier that actually sends fresh hardware and keeps everything updated, take a look at ECUTools ecutools.eu They work with verified manufacturers, ship devices with current firmware, and their catalog covers all common vehicle types — cars, trucks, bikes, and agricultural ECUs. Ordering was straightforward and support was quick to answer technical questions.
